What makes a service member good or great. Starting at the bottom and progressing up the ranks. I know there are a lot of different thoughts and they can very from service to service. So let's hear those opinions.

SSgt (Join to see) Selfless Service is really the most important ingredient that I look for a good or great service member; caring about the team and not himself or herself; and having that high energy level and that "Can do Attitude". The individual has that "inner attitude" that there isn't anything they can't accomplish. I think great soldiers are found, not recruited. They have that "eagle" like instinct and the military releases it to nurture and grow. The military is no place for "ducks" people that sit around and say this is the way we've always done it and they can't grasp change or anyone moving their "cheese". The great soldiers are saying: "hell I already moved that cheese!"
Of course all of the Army Values:
Loyalty
Duty
Respect
Selfless Service
Honor
Integrity
Personal Courage
