Senior CPT Clinical AOC looking for a change of pace (ROTC grad). My AOC is understrength but the promotions are less than ideal for AMEDD right now. I am considering 38A or 90A which both have numerous openings in the USAR. 38A probably makes more sense given my medical skillset, but Army logistics has always interested me. My questions are:

1. Is the learning curve too steep for an AMEDD officer jumping into reserve LG?
2. Am I hurting myself promotion-wise? I am up for MAJ next year but can delay the board since I am in a doctorate program per a recent MILPER message. As I said AMEDD promotions are low, sub 10% for my branch
3. Thoughts on CA vs LG? I would like to have future mob and training/school opportunities when I finish my doctorate.
4. Any other branches you would recommend? The LG feeders and CM are the easiest to transfer to right now.

If you're jump qualified or want to be, go to USACAPOC (A) and you can jump as much as you want. They've got a lot of slots for medical personnel. It's a two star command headquarted at Bragg. Got units all over the US.

I'm in the process of reclassing from AMEDD. I'm also currently in a CA unit. I'm happy to share.
