A really close friend of mine started this for me... Over the past 2 years I have been homeless multiple times, been avoiding my problems, and ran into multiple legal issues. Everything has began to snowball out of control and via intervention my close friends have come to support and rescue so I do not fall any further.

I kind of hate promoting a campaign for myself but be assured that I do not have access to these funds myself. I have relinquished control of everything over to a power of attorney to assist me in my recovery and am doing all I can to crawl out of this massive hole that I have dug for myself.

"Our dear friend and fellow humanitarian Dan needs a chance to start his life anew. After years of struggles and relocating to a new state, he has found nothing but hardships and injustice. We can rally together to help him fight these injustices and gain the independence to live his life again. Dan does more than give- he has dedicated his life to military services, rescue missions, and the love and compassion for every living thing.

Dan has recently lost his medic gear, vehicle, and the means to continue his volunteer efforts in search and rescue. He faces several obstacles in order to regain his independence and we are reaching out to the community for support."

I'm all about helping people - but, I'd also like a little more information so that we can all perhaps be more effective in the types of help we give. What city are you in? Are you working now? What skill sets do you have? What skill sets can you show on paper? (There's a difference - and it's important when looking at types of jobs that might be in the area.) What does your budget look like there? (Also important because budget requirements for food, apartment, etc, vary by locality). What other debts are you shouldering that are going to need to be accounted for? What transportation do you have?

I live in central Virginia halfway between Richmond and Fredricksburg. I am not currently working and have been unable to find work. Also with the current legal issues I am fighting I am unsure if I would be able to obtain employment. My only income is my 60 percent VA disability. I currently have no transportation. My skills are mainly in network/systems engineering and intelligence analysis. Financially I have been way over my head for a few years now pushing myself deeper and deeper into debt. I will shoot you a private message with more details.

Thanks for the reply. Do you mind if we ask what the legal issues are? What physical work can you NOT do because of your disability (construction, roofing, road maintenance, etc)? Have you considered filing for bankruptcy if that will eliminate debt? These are things I look like when I try and figure out how best to help people and figure out where to guide them. Money is nice and is a short term fix, but the long term fix is getting you back to "self-sufficient" - knowing more is how we find that solution.
