Flying to Korea (on orders): Travel in Uniform or Civies?

I have been assigned to Korea, and am going unaccompanied. This is my first OCONUS assignment (other than 2 deployments) and would like some insight on this.<div><br></div><div>I ask this because I have always understood that when traveling on official business (i.e., on orders) you do so in uniform. In the past that meant Class A or Class B. I also remember the 80s when traveling in uniform was discouraged for PERSEC reasons. </div><div><br></div><div>So what advice do you have on this issue?</div>

Civies always on International commercial travel. Security is the primary reason. You do not want to call undo attention to yourself in this current reality of the international terroist threat.

The Army may be different but the AF states of you're flying commercial or have commercial connections then civi's If you're flying military transport then duty uniform. I know for Korea you'll more than likely be going through Incheon Int'l Airport or via Patriot Express into Kunsan. Either way, it's civi's

Check your regulations on travel; I know that within the Navy, they prefer to have sailors travel in civies.
I would go the safe way and travel in civies, plus it would be a bit more comfortable; but that's my opinion.

Back in the dark ages, 61-66, commercial travel was usually in uniform. Class A flying to Okinawa in 1962. I’m older than dirt.
