I haven't seen anyone ask this recently and was wondering what any current recruiters thought about recruiting duty. I've heard everything from 16hr days to its a 9-5 job. Anyone have relevant info wishing the passed couple of years?

SGT Graziano, it is all about your leaders, Station Commander, your unit, and your mission. Normally you will work from 0800 hrs to 1700 hrs. Monday thru Friday. You will work some Saturdays and have all Sundays off, unless you are driving or picking up an applicant or a shipper to MEPS.
Even though it may or may not be a team mission, recruiters still must pull their weight and write contracts. So naturally if you are behind the ol eight ball, then you will work more hours.
Back in the day, if you volunteered for recruiting duty, you could select the Battalion you wanted to work from. I highly recommend warm weather, anywhere in the south. Good luck young Sergeant and remember, the life of a recruiter may not be over in the desert, but is is extremely vital to the over all health of the Army.....
By the way, if you have a Station Commander that is worth his/her salt, they will control the battle rythm and the hours needed to be successful....always ask for a referral, always ask them to join, don't beat around the bush!

My friend says it's long days with usually 5-6 day work weeks depending on if they meet their quota.
