It's neither "better" or "worse" but it is different, as it is more Tailored.
RallyPoint is specifically tailored for those who have served in the military, where as Facebook is essentially an untailored site, and LinkedIn is tailored for business professionals.
Like a Venn Diagram, the overlap between the sites is there, and in some ways is huge.

Sgt Aaron Kennedy, MS hit the nail on the head. LinkedIn has become more of a social site then what was intended for (Business and professionals). I see this every day because I use it for most of my business contacts in the Healthcare Industry. Facebook for me is for family, friends, high school friends, college friends, and a lot of personal stuff about people that gets posted that wouldn't be appropriate for RP. RP gives all the services, veterans, retirees, active duty, reserves, national guard, and coast guard a place to start discussions that are related to the RP family and get discussions on news that affect everyone in the military as well as the public. It is different and based on a point system (if your interested in that) and allows you to join various groups based on your hobbies and things you like to do as well. It allow everyone to professional agree or disagree with others or provide a different perspective. I have learned so much more about the other service branches on RP that I may become a SME. Doubt it. I have made some very good connections on RP and then I have a lot of connections that haven't even finished their profiles or they don't visit RP at all after joining. It is what it is!

SGT Derrick Evans Not really. I was told once that my answer wasn't funny even though it wasn't meant to be. I just apologize to the RP Member and made it right. I want this to be a professional experience for all ranks and members, so I'm a big proponent of being very respectful, not answering or commenting on questions that I don't know anything about, staying in my lane as much as possible, being a mentor and a coach, and hopefully providing some intelligent insight for others to benefit from. I try to use a little bit of humor to keep it light and friendly. If something really comes up or is said that I don't like, I just pass over it and move on!

We're all on the same team here. There are dissenting views, which is good because otherwise it would be boring. But we share a spoken and unspoken bond of service that can't be replicated on the other two sites except inside smaller groups. I like it here.
