Interesting that the COS (below) has to threaten and yell (all caps?) at his physicians. I don't see any clarity in this message to the clinicians as to how to handle someone who needs to be seen before the 3 months are up waiting for NVCC to finally get a veteran scheduled. For example, if a veteran had a rash and to wait the 3 months to see a dermatologist, it didn't help for the dermatologist to diagnose the problem.

BTW, we're on 63 days waiting for a NVCC. We called two weeks ago and finally spoke with a live person. She asked if there was someone who would see us, we provided her a name to a clinician who has done work for VA before. Then last Monday, we called and had to leave a message. We were told we would hear back in 24 to 48 hours. Well, no call back or MyHeathe Vet message. What happened to Congress' Veterans Choice Card we were to receive if VA couldn't see a veteran within 30 days??? Where did those billions go?

Subject: STAT CONSULTS

THERE ARE TO BE NO STAT CONSULTS TO NVCC!

ANYTHING STAT IS DESIGNATED FOR A LIFE THREATENING CONDITION AND THAT WOULD NOT NORMALLY BE SENT TO NVCC.

911 IS THE CORRECT STAT LIFE THREATENING CONSULT

YOU ARE ADDING TO AN ALREADY OVERBURDENED SYSTEM A NONSENSICAL CONSULT.

ALL PROVIDERS REQUESTING STAT CONSULTS WILL BE MONITORED FOR COMPLIANCE WITH THIS ORDER.

YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO JUSTIFY YOUR REQUEST FOR AN AMBULATORY STAT CONSULT TO ME PERSONALLY. THE FACT THAT YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO DO THIS MEANS THAT I WILL BE QUESTIONING YOUR CLINICAL JUDGEMENT.

Whose questioning this COS' ethical and clinical judgment??????

Maybe I should have defined "NVCC." It's the Non-VA Care card/Choice card.
