Looking at fort benning as duty station choice. As an 88m what units can I be assigned to there? Do they deploy? What is the work like? Currently at schofield barracks and my weeks and work life are all over the place. I’m looking for a consistent job with a schedule that I can pick up some college classes with. Benning is very close to home and with school as a priority I have had many battles tell me to avoid Stewart as the field and deployments would greatly hinder education.

*chuckle* SPC (Join to see) are you going to go down the list of every post an 88M can be stationed at?

Don't take this as a shut-down of your questions rather than a humorous observation.
Having said that, I would advise you to look at your potential assignments like this:
- You stated your priority is taking college classes. Can you do them remotely? If so, then the OPTEMPO of the unit you're assigned to is the key factor rather than the vicinity to a college campus you like. If not, then geography is important since it won't matter how much free time you have if the classes are available near you.
- By their very nature assignments to operational tactical units will be detrimental to your wishes. They are going to be in the field more. You'll likely have much more regular hours to pursue classes at higher level unit assignments (i.e., working as a dispatcher in a post's TMP rather than if you're driving a HET for 1AD).
You can get a good overview of what's ahead of you as an 88M and the type of assignments you might be interested in by checking out the 88M ACT Career Map (https://transportation.army.mil/enlisted/docs/88M/ACTCareerMaps_88M.pdf) - by drilling down into the EADS links, you should get a better picture on "what's where" and then research the bases.

What is daily life like for an 88M at Fort Leonard Wood? How hard is it to do school while there?...
88ms at FORT LEONARDWOOD, what is your daily life like there. What type of unit are you in. I’m looking to work on school while active duty, how hard is that to do at FLW? What is the work tempo like. My reenlist window opens up next month and I am looking to stay 88m to put food on the table, however I’m looking for a work tempo that allows for me to do school so I can go green to gold. I was told FLW is a good shout for this.

Benning is AWESOME! I loved every minute I was on Benning and I wish I had retired there. If you like to Hunt, Fish or camp it is the place for you, you can rent boats, anything recreational is there. Schools, education and opportunity to advance.
