Have a senior 42, that will not let Soldiers take leave from Monday thru Friday. Says it is in conjunction with 2 regular passes (weekends).

I think someone needs to have a chat with the Commander since the 42A isn't the approving authority. Someone needs a reality check

That is partly true.
You can take leave M-F, still be off for the weekend, and report to duty Monday.
You cannot take leave M-F, be off for the weekend, and start another leave on Monday.
In combining leave and pass, you CAN go pass-leave-pass, you CANNOT go leave-pass-leave.

Yes. You can take leave M-F. But you have to be present to sign in and sign out (subject o installation / unit policy). You CANNOT take leave M-F and take an actual DA31 pass on the following Saturday or preceding Sunday.
I have seen quite a few folks who were staying local for terminal leave "extend" their terminal leave in that manner. It goes against the intent, but meets the letter. Most Commanders won't let folks game the system like that long term. But if Commander signs off, it is legal, according to reg.
I have done it myself a couple different times during "holiday block leave," using a total of like 6 days of leave and working only one or two.

I never gamed the system myself ;^). I didn't take leave when I was at IOBC during Christmas Block Leave. My family was with me and my Mother and Father were coming down to spend it with us. Weekends and Holidays were non-duty days and the Acting CO would allow a three day pass per week. I did Staff Duty Officer one cycle, which give me 48 hours off, so combined with passes, weekends and holidays, it left me with two days I had to make roll call, then I went home. No leave taken.
It helped to have a MSTSGT Daddy who knew how to stretch leave time.
