It'd be nice to be able to add a relevancy quick button, or maybe a non-serious category, to see what people think about a comment/question. I see a lot of comments regarding 'that's the dumbest thing I've seen on Rally Point', it would be interesting to have a quick response on whether other people think the question is worth the time to read, respond (maybe influence people to review).

That's what the up vote (good question) and down vote (stupid, waste of time question) options are for. Or did you mean something else?

As far as categories, they currently are already separated into four... 1) Military 2) Transition 3) Veteran and 4) Other.

LCDR (Join to see) - Got it, thanks. When you say "Serious Discussion" -- perhaps you mean more professional military content? If so, have you tried just sticking to the Military Discussions section of the site? I'm curious if that helps. Let me know... https://www.rallypoint.com/categories/military-discussions/answers

LTC Yinon Weiss - No, I'm also interested in the pieces beyond 'typical military discussion'. I've had the honor of working with some of the most interesting people in the military environment, not just officers/enlisted/Navy/whatever. The very fact that many of us come from all sectors of society (and many that aren't even citizens) brings so many different viewpoints. It's great to see open, frank discussion across the ranks/breadth of the service. I think it's possible to have 'serious discussion' anytime there are different viewpoints, and would prefer to see them as respectful discussions (if you can have one about certain things...it's hard to use all of the argument methods, like ab absurdo ab absurdium instead of 'your momma', attacking the individual instead of the argument). But respectful discourse isn't always possible. However, I digress, I was just going more towards maybe having the ability to vote/move a discussion into another category vice 'other'. I appreciate the recommendations, though.

LCDR (Join to see) - Makes sense. Our platform is still fairly young... we are always working on helping our members discover more relevant content. Ideally, the more of certain kind of content you interact with, the more of that content you will see. However, it will take us a while to get there, so just hang in there. I'm really glad to see that you enjoy the diverse discussions, and I look forward to reading more of your contributions!

I was going to say the same thing. If you don't like a post hit the vote down. If you like it hit the vote up. Gets people reading and interacting with each other. I mean that is what RallyPoint Team is for. This is not a place just to have another Social network but for us all to have someone there for us when we need them.
