So i have been out of the service for years now, honorably discharged and work in the same field as i did in the service. I didn't know anything about how to or even if i could have use that experience and get my certifications as a mechanic without taking all the test needed to advance in this career field. I did find this site recently
http://www.cool.army.mil/, but at this point i think its too late for me, so i wanted to pass this info to all service members coming home and to say research any and everything on your transition out of service. There is alot of help out here to get service members into the civilian workforce withoug having to start back over.

Thanks for sharing your experiences SPC Chris Early.
The Navy also has the same "cool" program, at https://www.cool.navy.mil/usn/

I am in the process of transitioning out and I am taking lots of notes to pass on once I gain employment. I feel that a lot of us have something to offer but many don't know how to prepare themselves for the transition nor do they know how to put themselves out there. Once I have a Job offer I will throw my advice out there for others to use. Thanks for posting your thoughts and experience, someone out there will use the cool website to help themselves!!
