What does the living situation look like for a! E-5 and family of 4 in Germany? I’m re-enlisting for Germany tomorrow and was wondering if I can live off post or if the on-post housing is decent.

Depends on the availability of on post housing. As for what the housing on post looks like, that will depend on what base you get assigned to. Every base in Germany that I had been to, they all were tall buildings and apartment style. They were decent sized.

There's a lot of posts in Germany, it just depends where you live, and how full on post housing is at the time you arrive

Each installation is different. It will depend on avaiability. When my family was in Grafenwohr, the majority of the family housing was in the community (off base).
