Are NCOERs not allowed to indicate/recognize pursuit of college credit?

I just had an NCOER draft returned by HQDA with the following error message:
“Evaluation was RETURNED TO THE FIELD; and --MAINTAIN PROFILE count; Part IV block e - Comments should address current performance in current duty position. Comments addressing civilian profession are prohibited.(maintained a 3.75 GPA as a ***SCHOOL REDACTED*** graduate student, displayed the academic capability expected at the Service College level)**********Signatures must be removed in the following order (Reviewer (if one is listed), Rated Soldier, Senior Rater and last Rater). Once signatures are removed, corrections can be applied. NOTE: If the signatures are removed prior to the rated soldier removing their signature, the rated soldier can remove their signature by clicking the *Signature Removal* button on the EES homepage under the TOOLS column. After corrections are made, return with all signatures in proper sequence).”
Seems kind of backwards logic to grant promotion points for college credit, but be unable to mention pursuit of a college degree, especially when the school doesn't produce a DA-1059.

Well....if the Reviewer at HQDA determined that the schooling comment(s) has to be removed....then remove them it shall be done. Those at HQDA that review NCOERs are rather meticulous when it comes to the evals and regs.

Thanks for the response. I've asked the HQDA policy inbox for clarification on which reg they're basing their comment on. This is my final-out NCOER, and for all the roadblocks I've had to deal with, I'm not afraid to die on the IG hill if this rejection has no basis in policy.

It looks like you mentioned your civilian profession in the college bullet. THAT is what needs to be removed, not the college reference.
Most of my NCOER's mention college. That's perfectly fine. But your NCOER is about your military performance, not civilian (I assume you're a reservist).
So no mention of civilian occupations.

SFC Hasbun, I am very curious how the wording of "maintained a 3.75 GPA as a ***SCHOOL REDACTED*** graduate student, displayed the academic capability expected at the Service College level" bleeds into my civilian employment status. I will take a mea culpa, my original post did not include the fact that I was admitted into the program as a Reservist under the stipulation I was attending the program on my own weekend time, and not for drill points or pay (excluding a very small handful of RSTs).

I have never seen an NCOER kicked back for college GPA earned during the rated period, but I have seen NCOERs kicked back for mistaken reasons.
In this case, I would move the GPA bullet from e. (Intellect) to g. (Develops), redo the signatures and resubmit.

Thanks for the advice, SGM. I sent an inquiry back to HQDA on their policy advisor inbox, noting that I've checked AR 623-3 and ADRP 6-22, and can't find anything matching their verbiage. I've seen others use the GPA thing under Intellect, and from where I'm sitting its one of the things that could go in either column depending on wording... but I *do* need the bullet in Intellect more, haha.
