Basically I can't get to the links I used to get to my Retirement Point statements, and Vacancy reports, and iPerm's. I've since found alternatives for iPerms and Vacancies, but I'm without a solution for finding my DA5016 (retirement points)

When you are getting close to retirement it will pay you dividends to make sure everything is in print including and most important DA 5016!

No telling what form of technology it’ll be viewable in by the time you retire! Remember it’s up to you to prove it!

RGR that sir, I like to keep tabs on it year to year. I keep everything. I could potentially re-create my points day by day DA1380 by 1380, order by orders.

And as you point out sir, I won't know what form those points will be held in record as, and currently there is a morphing of Army Information Systems as they try and protect themselves from cyber attacks. The end result is things are not as easy to get to. Databases that were once pretty useful (but obscure) have gone to the sideline or been abandoned all together.

So I'm anticipating the worst.

From what I can tell, reconciling my annual points is most fragile with my DA1380's. Especially when money is on hold for a period of time, 1380's get submitted, but not paid until funds are released. Then points for retirement verses points for pay.

All that stuff needs to be kept up to date year by year. Those nuances are going to be near impossible to prove in 10 years. Those nuances also changed according to regulation and policy at the time the points were issued. So it would be easy to lose points not counted at the time under approved policy that are no longer approved at the time of retirement ( for example DA1380's submitted long ago for approved classes no longer on the approved list).

If soldiers can peck away 10-20 extra points for various things every single year that's effectively like doing an entire additional year of active duty.

I see each point (based on my anticipated retirement rank and final points) worth 70 cents to me on top of what I get paid to earn that point.

Finally............. I've stopped blowing off making up missed battle assemblies that conflict with Annual Training. Early on I just didn't want to take the trouble to clear my schedule to make up the missed BA over AT. It seemed like a hassle. Now, with some years behind me I'm more in tune with various on-line courses I can just randomly take. Making up missed BA because of AT is the easiest RST to ask for. The funding WILL BE THERE. Command probably wont care one bit what the duty is if it comes from an approved training list of classes. Just pick SOMEHTING that makes up the hours.
