This was done at the Cincinnati, Oh VA hospital 06/16/2015, I had a recurring carsonmia that was positive but the only problem I have is that I now have an extra cut on the ear from 6 hours of local surgery. The extra cut is where the blood ends at the ear. You must protect your skin by what ever means possible.

I am truly sorry to hear that. I have always been treated good at the Cinci VA. Let me know if you need anything. I'd be happy to help!

First I am sorry to learn what you went through. All of the care I have received at Martinsburg, WV VAMC, Fort Detrick, MD VA Clinic and Washington DC VAMC has been professional and each person has treated me and all other veterans with respect and courtesy.
I concur wholeheartedly about protecting your skin, SFC Rollie Hubbard. In 1996 I was first diagnosed with actinic keratosis which can lead to squamous cell carcinoma and had areas frozen off my limbs and trunk. Years of exposure to the sun and some bad burns had done some damage to the largest organ in my body - my skin. Since that time I stopped going to the beach and took vacations in the mountainous areas where there are lots of trees. This past week I had roughly 10 areas of actinic keratosis frozen off and another area frozen off with a lot more freezing. I also had what is suspected to be a basal cell carcinoma shaved off and biopsied.
Take care of your skin, it doesn't matter what your skin color or complexion is we are all susceptible to damage from the sun. One important factor is to stay hydrated - alcohol doesn't count as hydration :-) When I was an Fort Benning we made all soldiers drink a full canteen every hour that we were outside all day. Some didn't appreciate it but we never had any heat casualties.

Wow, I'm sorry to hear that your treatment was so poor. The VA in Orlando, FL is like dealing with Bank of America...you're just a number to get lost in the shuffle. I have not re-engaged since moving to Oregon after my last deployment so I don't know how the west coast compares.

Not really poor treatment just the extra cut that they missed. I am happy with the job they had to do.
