I just wondering if Career recruiters have to PCS, I know if your on recruiting duty you do your 3 years as a recruiter and you PCS and continue doing whatever their primary MOS is. Do 79Rs PCS? Like you get to some recruiting station in TX knock out 18-36 on station and PCS to, say Michigan, do your time there and then come down on orders to PCS again to NY or whatever all while being a 79R? Or is just like you’re a 79R you stay at this station until you retire or die?

Yes, 79Rs still PCS. They will move to another recruiting center to be a normal recruiter, or be a Center Leader (or station commander, whatever they wanna call it these days). Then it’s off to do some staff time at BN, or the school house, then pick up a Company, back to staff etc.

Concur. If she does not PCS from the recruiting duty, then what is her status? Her status is she is still on active duty, the army gives her orders, then the PCS move. I am trying to act like I know stuff. lol

Wow. That’s interesting thank you. I really thought once they decided to become a career recruiter they stay where they’re at unless they specifically request a change. I really have no idea where I got that thought from, but thank you for clearing things up.

Hmmm ... I always thought Recruiters never left the place they recruited you from.
Just Kidding, you should PCS like normal. After your tour you may receive a choice to remain in Recruiting or return to your original duty field, PMOS or SMOS.
