Do medical approvals through MEPS commonly take over a month? Should the recruiter info change on the paperwork?

Here's the story to it. My friend, who signed up for the Marine Corps, did his things and went to MEPS, but there's where the trouble began; he has pretty lousy eyesight, so you know he had to see the eye doctor, etc. As of 01/26/2022, it has been a little over a month, and he still hasn't gotten his results back on whether he's good to go or not. When he asks his recruiter about his progress so far, all he gets is that it's jam-packed, and there's only one eye doctor. But then today, he told me that while in MEPS, he looked at his paperwork. Which was like some excuse paper since he didn't have a valid ID and saw that it says something in the lines of if there are any issues, contact his recruiter SSGT. G. which is to be expected, but instead of that, it says SGT. W., who's not his recruiter. I'm not in the military, but this all seems weird. I had another friend who enlisted in the Navy a month ago, and this never happened to him; he also had a not-so-great vision, not as bad, though. This might all be the process, but we want to ask just in case.

COVID has slowed everything down. If his eyesight is horrible, they likelyhad to request a waiver for him to join

Your friend needs to talk to his recruiter. No one on RallyPoint knows how long MEPS will take. Your story has holes. What information are you not telling us?

Sorry for such a delayed response. I would like to start by saying, no I'm not holding any information back. As of 01/27/2022 1:56 pm, what I said is what my friend has told me. I'm down to give you his number if you want and ask him for any clarification. (I asked him, and he's down). On a side note, thank for very much for answering sir/ma'am.

Sgt (Join to see) - I have not told him whether to keep working with his recruiter or not nor have I convinced him otherwise since that's more or less his decision to make.
