DD 214 should have your in theater activities. Check with the Records Office in St. Louis; they may have a copy of your orders, a performance evaluation from that timeframe, or check medical records if you had medical treatment during that timeframe. Did you get any awards?

SMSgt Bob W. - I would suspect that proof you were in a combat zone doing a specific mission and evaluations from that period should be proof enough. There should be after action reports on any contact that occurred during a convoy operation.

If you were WIA, the morning report (DA-1) would have an entry such as, and a long, long time since I was a company clerk, From Duty to WIA (location). They can be had from the National Archives. Morning reports are good for proving a lot of things.
