Is it possible to overturn medical waiver (spondylosis) for WOFT?

I have a question about aviation medical waivers for Army WOFT. I've been selected for WOFT however, in the midst of waiting to be released from my current service, my flight physical lapsed. When I re-did my physical, I was told I needed a waiver for an apparent back issue (spondylosis). This wasn't brought up on my initial physical when applying.
The waiver authority denied my waiver, I applied for a reconsideration which was denied as well. Is there anything I can possibly do to have my waiver overturned so I do not lose this opportunity. Ive checked the waiver guide, I am Asymptomatic and have not had surgery. My flight surgeon has been working with me and helping as much as he could but no luck on his end either. I've had nothing but outstanding PT scores for Navy, Marine, and Army. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Everything that I am finding on spondylosis says that it is degenerative, which means it will get worse over time. If the waiver authority and the reconsideration board reviewed and denied your waiver request, your path to flying for WOFT might be over. If I am reading AR 40–501 correctly, your diagnosis is a DQ for flight.

PO1 (Join to see) Have you thought of making an application for non-aviation duties. You have already jumped the qualification hurdle for being a WO.

SFC Thomas Livingston I read in the waiver guide waivers are granted on a case by case basis. I was hoping there was an option that I could submit for an appeal but the reconsideration may have been said appeal.

SFC Ralph E Kelley I was hoping for something along those lines but my current rate in the Navy doesn’t feed into any other branch. I’m all ears of that is a possibility.

PO1 (Join to see) unfortunately, that’s an extremely hard road block to overcome since you are not already in training. I know how the past guys there thought...not what you wanted to hear and not saying it’s impossible...

COL Kelly Hines Sir, I appreciate the feedback. That’s how my Flight Surgeon explained it as well. I was hoping there would be a way to identify myself as an outlier in regards to the statistical data for starting training with an asymptomatic back issue. I haven’t had any luck though…
