The Army's birthday is June 14, marking the day in 1775, when the Continental Congress approved the establishment of an army. Washington, in addition to being the nation's first president, was the first commander of the Continental Army.

I'm hosting a motorcycle ride that day to raise food donations for the Veterans Assistance Commission in my county to help take care of nerdy Vets and their families.

I'll be conducting an SRP at my unit as well - at least it's with all my favorite people!

Honestly, I never knew when the Army observed/celebrated their birthday. But, now I've got June 14th circled on my calendar. Albeit early, Happy Birthday! I will raise a glass to you all, this Sunday.
