Other soliders have been saying that new soliders won't receive the GWOT. Which I understand why, but I am unable to find any publication about a stop date for my soliders recently out of AIT.

There is a GWOT Expeditionary Medal and a GWOT Service Medal. The first has specific dates of applicability. The second is still being awarded.
If you dig into the Awards regulation, you can find the requirements and make a huge impact on your Soldiers morale by helping them get one of their first medals.

SSG (Join to see) - You'd also hear Soldiers say that salt peter is being put in the food in Basic Training....doesn't it make it true.

SFC Jason Boyd, I accually brought that up to someone else when they said the GWOT was no longer being awarded, but I wanted to dig into it that way I can make sure I can go to S1 and get it put on my new solider's ERBs and be able to argue back if they try to tell me it's not longer an award being given.

Anytime somebody makes a random claim just ask for confirmation. There will always be barracks lawyers making crazy proclamations. Just ask for proof because if there isn't proof it is a rumor at best . If it is BS or the person made it up it will buff itself out.

I had a SSG tell me it was no longer being awarded. When I told him I verified that it was still current, there was doubt. It seems like my entire Regiment is under this impression that it is over. I don't live in the barracks.

SSG (Join to see) the term barracks lawyer is a reference to troops who think they know all of the inner workings of everything when they actually don’t. It has nothing to do where you reside
