I hold this quote near to my heart and try to emulate it by being that leader every day: “Leadership is about solving problems. The day Soldiers stop bringing you their problems is the day you have stopped leading them. They have either lost confidence that you can help or concluded you do not care. Either case is a failure of leadership.”

Classic Gen Powell quote. He always seemed to be the calmest head in the room. Steady as a river. One helluva classy guy. He carried himself with a dignity that seems to have been lost over the last several years.
It will be difficult to find another with so much talent to fill the big shoes, especially with today's infatuation with tearing down anyone who dares try to be a leader.
