It is a really nice duty assignment, you are in close proximity of DC, so you will have lots of things to do, good luck with it and enjoy the assignment.

You can use the RP search engine and pull up some info on the installation, and it should also populate some RP members that are stationed there and you could contact them directly for further non-military posted pertinent info as well.

Don't forget to check out Swiftwater Labs, a discrete civilian facility south of USAMRIID.

Its a great place. Frederick is a bedroom community of both DC and Baltimore. You have the ocean and the mountains close by.

Baltimore Inner Harbor is great. DC, with the mall area is amazing.

You have many historic sites within driving distance, Gettysburg, Antietam etc.

You have Hood College and Frederick Community College just a few miles from the gate.

Harpers Ferry is a great place to hike and look around (aside from the rich history it has). You can go tubing there, or rappelling.

Gambrill State park is easily accessed via alternate route 40 if you want to camp or hike.

95 gives you easy weekend access to Philly or New York. On a four day you could head to Boston or Myrtle Beach, SC.
