What is the likelihood of going to a combat unit as a 68P after reclassifying? Will coming from a combat MOS effect this?

I'm looking to reclass to 68P, I'm just curious as to how likely it would be for me to get sent to a combat unit if I were to reclass. Will coming from a combat MOS effect this?

The chances that you are able to reclass to 68P are extremely, extremely slim. Nearly impossible. Have a few MOS's that you're willing to accept if they pop up, not all unicorn MOS's either or you will miss some good opportunities. You'll also need a grade waiver for any 68 MOS if you become promotable.
If you're one of those kids who says "It's this or ETS" then start working on your college so you can apply to a radiology tech program after you ETS.
If you do reclass, whatever MOS you end up in, you'll be sent where the Army needs you at that time. The branch manager doesn't know or care about your previous MOS, you are just a skill level 1 MOS and it's plug and play for them. Most of the 68 series jobs except 68W and 68X are in hospitals

And is there any high chance that will happen. Also, that would only be a temporary assignment or considered a deployment?

CPL (Join to see) - CSH, otherwise known as Combat Support Hospital, are very much a PCS move. For example, the 10th CSH at FT Carson, CO. As a RAD Tech, your assignments will pretty much be hospital units of some nature. Whether that be CSH, MASH (I hear they are making a possible come back), or an actual Hospital like Madigan. You won't be serving in an Infantry unit as a RAD Tech

A previous MOS has no bearing on a reclassed to MOS other than you bringing the skills forward that you learned in that previous MOS. It will not and does not affect whether you in the reclassed MOS will be sent to a combat unit. The likelyhood of you getting assigned to combat unit is the same for any other member of your reclassed MOS.
