Does anybody have a starting point on how to apply for a Clearance Investigator position thru The National Background Investigations Bureau?

I will be retiring from the Army in three short years and this is the field I wish to pursue as my post military career. I reached out to them on their website, but they gave me a vague answer of who hires Background Investigators. Any insight is appreciated. There must be an easier sure fire way.

Used to be Civil Service Special Agents with the Defense Investigative Service. No idea today.

USAJobs is the only place I have seen openings for it. It's a GS job and I'm pretty sure that is the only way to get one of those jobs.

The easier sure fire way is to get that job at one of the contracting companies that do the majority of the work for OPM.
Keypoint Government Solutions
ISN Corp
They're all on clearancejobs.com

I was afraid of the Clearancejobs.com answer to this. Haha. Thanks, SGM. I'll stick with going thru them.

SFC (Join to see) - clearancejobs.com lists all the contractor positions.
If you are looking to work direct for OPM NBIB, they would post openings on usajobs.gov.
But the overwhelming majority of background investigators are the contract companies.
