Well, LTC (Join to see), you just so happened to tag exactly the right guy for this discussion thread! Darshan, the American Golden Eagle that made this flight (and video) was trained at the Southeastern Raptor Center, College of Veterinary Medicine at Auburn University (my alma mater, of course)!
It's part of the Auburn pre-game tradition that an eagle (now War Eagle VII) is released from the top of the stadium and circles until told to attack (land) on the 50 yard line. It's most impressive, and it happens before each home game.
This photo was taken 8SEP01, just three days before the terrorist attack on the Twin Towers in NYC. I was at the game.

LTC Stephen C., I would love to be in attendance to see this one day (Even though I am a B1G guy) I truly enjoy College Football and have it on my bucket list to tour college football games throughout our Beautiful Nation!

LTC (Join to see), there is more to the story. The magificent creature photographed in front of the flag, War Eagle VI, died on 18JUN14 at 34 years of age. Again the photo was taken 3 days before 9/11. The photograph was soon published with the words, "Ever to conquer, never to yield" in the lower right hand corner. Needless to say, the photograph went viral. Interestingly, the words are the second line to "War Eagle", Auburn's fight song, but certainly seemed to capture the sentiments of the country at the time. I would like to think that the American people feel the same now (RP membership without question), though sometimes I wonder.

That is awesome. Thanks for sharing it! Makes one a bit envious of the ability to fly.

One of the Coolest Video's I've ever seen.. Too bad the Burj wasn't there in 91 when I was there. I would have toured that big old bugger.
