If this is to be done then the same / similar should be considered for aviation 2LTs and Tech Warrants.

I heard talks about implementing it with the new fiscal year. But at the end of the day, everyone is waiting to hear the plan of action from an official statement.

They are evaluating the potential change to resetting aviation WO's TIG once they complete flight school, instead of automatically at 24 months. As it stands, it is not uncommon to see service members promote to CW2 before leaving flight school, or promote immediately after arriving to their first unit as an aviator. The intent for the TIG reset is to slow down the promotion timeline and reduce the expectation on new aviators who would have promoted not because they have the experience, but because they were on hold for so long waiting for flight classes to start.

I think you're thinking of the ADSO, which was recently changed to ten years

SFC (Join to see) I was originally referring to the 8 year TIG requirement for applying for 153A. But the 10 year ADSO seems more aligned with this question
