I am prior service USMC Reserves changing over to Active Duty Army as a 27D. I’ll be an E4 and will be going to AIT in a couple weeks. Just would like some insight on what it is like, what to expect, etc. Thanks!

AIT is about 11 weeks; heavy on Court Martials, legal writing and research, goes over the use of online applications for case tracking (MJO, ALCS, CIS), typing, etc.

I was there in 2016. The Paralegal Specialist Course was held at Fort Lee, Virginia as part of Juliet Company, 262d Quartermaster Battalion. You will study and be tested on the UCMJ for 10 weeks, conduct an FTX, a JAGX (legal exercise involving multiple JAG members from different branches), and a trip to the JAG Regimental Home in Charlottesville, Virginia. Plan on a lot of studying in a schoolhouse environment, as prior service you may be given additional freedoms over the new AIT students.
