I have mixed feelings. The current system is great if you make 20 but it's all or nothing. I like the flexibility of the proposed system for force management and retention but everyone in now should be grandfathered.

I agree sir.  There should be a "grandfather clause."  I've been in over 20 and it seems like every time I turn around, there is another change to retirement going on.  It's tough to keep up...

It would be unjust for Soldiers not to be grandfathered in. Especially when people joined thinking they were going to have certian entitlements upon retirement. It would be a smack in the face. If everything else has been exhausted and the DOD has to make changes to pay and benefits, I think bridging the gaps between officer and enlisted pay is a good place to start.
