I ride with the Patriot Guard. I just did a Memorial Day mission, funeral escort, for a fallen Marine.
I'll be doing another mission for the same Marine when his remains are escorted from the funeral home to his final resting spot.
The PGR was founded specifically in answer to the Westboro Baptist Church. If those idiots are at a funeral we're supporting, we often form a human shield around the funeral so that the attendees will not have to see them. We also fly our large US and service flags, play patriotic music, and rev our bikes (many of us ride Harleys) to drown out WBC's chants and songs.
We have a strict non-violence rule, and anyone is welcome to join PGR. You don't have to be a veteran (we've got many "civilians" and active duty members) and you don't even have to ride a motorcycle.
