What is the process for Reservists getting a HMMWV license?

Greetings RP, it's your favorite full of question SPC. I volunteered for the Advon range prep team for this BA, and we need one operator for the humvee (but have none at the moment, we're an HR company). I want to obtain the license if possible, since I've heard vague info about it being a form and an online class. I would be appreciative if anyone could point me in the right direction.

The same process for active duty and the National guard. You need to go through drivers training. Do a road test. Have a commanders interview. Be registered in the computer system ( the system name escapes me.) Then have a license issued to you by your units master driver.

The system is GCSS-A.
And since you will be driving a HMMWV on public roads between your unit and FHL, your Master Driver will also need your civilian driver's license for input.

I've been retired for a few years now, so my information may be dated. But as a prolific driver trainer and examiner- Your unit would have to have a need for you to be licensed, they will conduct the training/testing (this may be most easily accomplished during A.T. and on the Battalion level).

Thank you for the information SGT. light switches are drilled into my head, my own car has manual headlights to help with that!

at Army driving school in '81 at Ft Bragg after completing qualification on the M151, and the M35, I said to my instructor: "there may be a problem, I don't know how to drive an automatic" - He shouted "OH, Come Now!" - later I told my friends what I said and half of them responded with their heads in their hands " Oh, Johnny, How could you?' and the other half responded "That's Brilliant!, I should have done that!"

In 06 in my just got in guard unit I was asked if I could drive a stick and move an old 21/2 ton wrecker. Told them sure. Then asked why it had 2 brake pedals.
