I am switching from the Marine Corps to the Army under a 14G MOS. AIT is in Fort Sill, I was wondering how prior service is treated at that base, what we can and can’t do, ETC. any help would be greatly appreciated

Did pretty much the exact same thing except from the Air Force, had to go through reception with everyone, but was isolated from the rest of the iet soldiers. Once I got to the schoolhouse all of the reclass were put on our own floor in the barracks. Just show up to class on time, once class is done you can do whatever you please and have weekends off. People who were close to sill went home and got their vehicles. Just avoid the iet soldiers when your outside of the class and you’ll be alright.

Depends on the Cadre. My Medical Specialist course back in '94, we had two SGTs reclassing with us and they were treated like the rest of the IETs. My Combat Engineer and Preventive Medicine AITs, we prior service were left to our own devices as long as we made it to PRT and class on time.

I don't know about Fort Sill, but at Fort Lee prior service or re-class Soldiers lived in separate barracks from the regular AIT attendees. They showed up for PT and were then allowed to leave until class started, once class was over they were authorized to depart Fort Lee so long as they reported in the next morning.

Fort Sill might be different, but I imagine your experience would be more lax than someone still in IET.
