The Marines have had that position for years. Earned, never given. Once a Marine, always a Marine.

The Marine Corps has trumped all the services combined with their brand identity. All the other branches have struggled and continue to struggle to find that one thing that gives them a fraction of the brand identification the Marine Corps has.
