I am currently on assignment to Korea to 501st Sustainment Brigade and was wondering if anyone out there could lend me a hand in helping me get pin pointed to Camp Humphrey's or a unit in Camp Carroll. My wife's family is from the Gumi and the closer south to them the better. It would be great if anyone is able to help out.

Considering your MOS you will likely be at a CSSB. If it is the same as when I was there you will likely go to 498th CSSB (Camp Carroll) or 194th CSSB (Camp Humphreys in Pyongtaek and Camp Stanley in Uijeongbu).

Have you looked up the installations on Google and then gone to the websites to find contact numbers and emails to try and network for assistance over there, or another avenue is check the RP search engine for the installation (s) as well to see if any RP members are here on site and hit them up directly it might get you quicker response and help.
Good luck.

Thanks for the info. I have tried to connect to a few on RP. Just have to wait and see for some responses.

Hey man sorry it took me so long to respond but there are a few family members that are here with soldiers stationed on Stanley in both 61st Maintenance & 46th Trans. They live in Uijeongbu which is about 5-10 min from post (depending on where in the city they live). There have been changes to the CSP for Area 1 personnel but I have not seen any of them take effect yet. One of the major changes being not allowing CSP for Area 1 personnel but in this case 1 of 2 things can happen. 1) the soldier is stationed here in Area 1 with the family members being housed in one of the other areas or 2) they relocate the soldier to another Area with their family! Unfortunately this is probably not something you will know for sure until you are here! I hope this helps at least some man & will help in any other way I can!

Thanks for the information. I figured as much. Just wish I had a good idea of where I was going to end up. My wife is Korean and here family lives near Dageu, so when I saw my orders I thought that I finally had some good luck and we would be near them. I am trying to work some other paths to try and get down there but only time will tell. Thanks again.
