Hey all, looking to see if there is anything governing OCONUS PCS living conditions. I understand the suck of deployments, TCS, TDY, but are there requirements for PCS? We've got guys living on top of each other in tents, and questions are being raised. Thanks in advance.

SFC (Join to see)
SSG (Join to see) you're forward deployed. It is what it is. This is exactly why certain tours are dependent restricted

SSG (Join to see) having left there just recently, PSAB is a forward deployed location controlled by the USAF under Expeditionary standards being granted a footprint of ground by the Saudi government. The space you have is all that there is to give. There are plans to expand as time goes on, but the beast of PSAB is what you face right now. I can tell you that AF personnel in A and B blocks are also stacked heavy in those tents they have.

I know in the CENTCOM AO they limited top bunk sleeping due to COVID. Soldiers were encouraged to put sheets up around their sleeping space and only one Soldier per sleeping area to reduce any risks of living in a bay or tent. That was more of a commander's or post policy though.
Watched the Civilian staff chew out some NCO's for trying to have their Soldiers sleep two to a bunk bed because they wanted all their guys in the same bay. Understandable, but there was more than enough space to accommodate the policy.

Understood, unfortunately when a new site is designated it precedes resources. This usually means that Soldiers begin to develop the infrastructure. So, while not unusual your unit should be providing information and updates on the advancement of your quality of life. Simple task for an update. Seek a command information brief from the Co and 1SG. It should be a rewarding experience.
