We just got deployed last March and will be back in December, I’ll ets April next year but I still need to complete sfl and I was planning On taking the programs they offered, I also got 88 ets leave days that I was planning on using with this day it would put me to start leave about the first week of January, I’m wondering how early does my unit have to send me back to the states so I can complete all this

You are required to be given 90 days for transition. Taking leave is a privilege not an entitlement. You're either going to have to sell a bunch of leave or extend.

Extend to burn all that leave, or sell it back.
Sell back is basic pay only minus tax, taking leave is all pay and entitlements minus tax.
The smart move would be to extend to complete all SFL TAP, and burn all the leave, and start school or your new civ job while collecting your last few Army checks.

There’s always flights happening. For example: if you had a Red Cross message for your spouse or child, they could have you on a flight home in days. With that said, I would map out how much time you’ll need to complete TAPS and your ETS Leave, and then start speaking with your CoC. Don’t lay this on them one week from when you think you’ll need to be home and expect it to happen. Start voicing it now

You can complete SFL TAP while deployed. As long as you have a computer to access emails and the trainings required.
