I have an award for the state department from when I was in the Marines for embassy reinforcement mission during the Arab spring. Has anyone worn any such ribbon and if so how did the process go to get it uploaded on your records

The S1 will scan it to Iperms. Just give them a color photocopy of it. Never give them the original. LTC (Join to see) LTC John Mohor COL (Join to see)

No matter how trivial, a combat patch, a FEMA course completion certificate completed and your DOS award,
Just go to your local S1. In the army reserve we have a personnel action center. When I look at your promotion packet, everything counts!

The DSMHA is worn above campaign and participation awards and above the good cookie, below actual Army decorations such as the AAM, it is in the system and S1 can easily add it to your records and ERB. I have one as well. They are becoming more common and you can even find the ribbons on rack builder sites.
