It appears that in July I will be attending 42A reclass school at Camp Parks, CA. Does anyone know what COVID restrictions are in place and what Camp Parks is like in general? Thanks!

Camp Parks is very much restricted by CV 19. We had a truncated AT there, and they only allowed 8 soldiers to participate on base. Everyone else did virtual AT.
Parks is nationally in one of the worst CV areas in the country, in one of the areas worst in the state.
The post itself is very small (there is a PX that is composed of two mobile units side by side), and surrounded by the Bay Area with lots of things to do (absent CV19).
So if you can actually get off post during your school things shouldn't be too bad. Otherwise, it's going to be pretty boring.

CPT (Join to see) Thanks so much for the reply! I hope to get to go in person. It is good to know what is on base so I can anticipate in packing! I doubt I spend much time out either way since I plan to spend much off time studying to do better in the classes.

Don’t know about COVID restrictions but I was at Camp Parks for SLC Jan to February 2020. No refrigerators or microwaves in the rooms, unlike my ALC room at Fort Dix. Also, No day room microwave. Day room did have cable tv. They had WiFi in the barracks but the further you where from the day room the weaker the signal got. They removed the outside locks on the doors because they had to replace so many keys. So no keys to the rooms, you could only lock the deadbolt when you were inside the room. You left room unlocked during the day but of course you could lock everything in the wall locker. One small PX/shopette/clothing&sales. So bring some snacks. The Mess hall was very good. They have washer and dryer’s in a central location. You were advised not to use the washer and dryers in the barracks because they would lock up and you could not get your clothes out. There were some brand new barracks but for whatever reason they were not used at that time. Lots of stuff to do outside of post.
