Would a man bun hair style for men be in regulation or out of regulation per AR 670-1?

An admin for Army WTF posted this on Twitter with the above caption. What are your thoughts?
Here are mine:
Yes and No
YES - Strictly speaking, if you were to read the definition for what defines an acceptable haircut/hairstyle, this man-bun complies with everything, word for word.
NO - Enlisted [esp. JE] will always be at the mercy of interpretation. We will always lose the game of Rock, Paper, Rank.

Can't speak for the Army, but I can guess.
Advance to the PX Barber shop immediately, do not pass "go" and do not collect $200.
The Marines would say the same except there would be a whole lotta language your Grandmother wouldn't approve of.
But if you give it a try, be sure to let us know how it turns out for you.

Sir,
You haven't met my grandmother. If she saw that, she would be busy teaching the Marines new and colorful adjectives.

Rah, Sir.
I will be sure to re-visit this post to tell of my experience, should I decide to implement this hair style.

Putting aside the fact that the word is now scrubbed from regulation, what really is defined as "faddish?"
If you Google 'tapered bun' this is one of the images that shows up. The bun is tapered on all sides and presents a professional appearance.
If 'faddish' is defined as haircuts that are 'trendy, in-style, popular' then hip-hop artist Nas's own haircut styled in the 90s, a low skin fade with 360 waves, can be considered as 'faddish' and yet we use the same haircut style in the military.
How do you define the term?

I would argue that....word for word....this man bun style does NOT conform to AR 670-1 as I see no tapering of that hairline. Yes, it's tapered from the neck, but the minute you get to that other line, there is no tapering. Personally, I do not feel that man-buns present a professional appearance. Especially this one.

MAJ Ron Peery
SSG Bill McCoy - I don't much care for "mullets" either. In civilian life, anything goes. In military life, you don't get to debate the standard. I know one retired BG who was always sharp while in service. After he retired, he adopted the Willie Nelson look. I cut my own hair because it's cheap, but I'm not very good at it. I don't understand why any man would want a "man bun" or any other style. But it's none of my business now. I just don't think that having to live up to a grooming standard set my the military is any kind of violation of someone's rights.

MAJ Ron Peery - Completely agree. Even LBJ went "hippie" with his hair and looked foolish. I still get military style haircuts ... in fact, even shorter than when I was in! LOL
