Reenlisting as Active Duty and reclassing. Will I get BAH at training?

I originally enlisted with the Guard and received BAH during IET based on my HOR. I am reenlisting active duty and reclassing as a 35P, which will put me back in TRADOC for quite a while. Will I still get BAH even though I am active duty? The difference in pay would be substantial. FYI I am single, no dependents, but I have a mortgage to pay.

There are exemptions to policy. Guard pay is different from active duty. Once you go active, because you are single with no dependents, you will not receive BAH.
I would highly suggest listing your house for sale now as you will not be able to double dip i.e live in the barracks (which single soldiers do) and collect BAH.

The ONLY exception to this that I have seen (single, no dependents, lower enlisted, authorized to get BAH) is if you happen to get stationed where your existing home is. In that case SOME Commanders (and it is still up to the Commander) will grant an exception to live in the home you already own. But even then, you would not be getting BAH during AIT, which is going to be AT LEAST 6 months, probably more, depending on your language. That is a LOT of mortgage payments to eat.

Why would you come onto AD and keep your house and mortgage if you aren't renting the house? If you're renting the house you shouldn't need BAH, if you're not renting the house you should dump it. If you fall behind on your mortgage payments you WILL lose your TS clearance and your 35P MOS class seat and be reclassed

I am renting the condo. I am just weighing the benefits of staying in the Guard and being able to use that BAH on top of the rent I'm getting to pay down my principal. Even if I have periods without a tenant, since I'd be living for free in the barracks I'd just pay my mortgage out of my regular pay. So I'm confident I'd be fine either way. It was just wishful thinking that I could double dip on getting paid rent and BAH. Thanks for everyone's feedback.

You need to do your research and make a plan. And hoping for BAH ain't a solid plan.
You are going active which means the likelihood of you staying in the same place you are now even after training is slim. You are looking at orders somewhere and you to need to plan out what will happen with the house. Either you are selling it or you are renting it out. If you are worried about BAH that tells me you aren't independently wealthy enough to just keep it and figure things out down the road. Financial well being will negatively impact your clearance, MOS and overall career if you don't stay on top of things. I won't tell another adult what to do with their property but you need to figure it out sooner rather than later.
