Arlington ceremony honors Hmong veterans for ‘secret war’ sacrifice. Have you attended a similar ceremony?

A retired Army colonel with a storied career in special operations, Crerar joined other seasoned Army Special Forces veterans, young congressional staffers and colorfully bedecked Hmong men and women Friday morning in the shadow of an Atlas cedar tree. The Hmong mark May 14-15 as the time when, in 1975, North Vietnamese forces captured the key base used by the CIA and Hmong fighters.

There is a large community of Hmong in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area (not far from my hometown) who were resettled there after the Vietnam War.

It wasn't that secret of a thing. Every body new about them and the Montagnards. It was widely talked about by everyone from the Special Forces community to the farthest flung garrision as far away as the US and Europe.
