So I’m joining that national guard and I need a suitability review done and my recruiter just came back saying it was disapproved because they need my discharge packet from the active army and active navy . I never got one from the navy and it’s not in dpris and my recruiter can’t find it in any of her records. My recruiter and her msg wrote a letter stating there wasn’t a discharge packet for the navy available just my dd214 so what should I do to move forward she’s clueless.

Go to the MilConnect website and create a login. That’s where all your records move to in the first 6 months after you get out. Remember that you have to wait 6 months from your ETS date before you are allowed to either go back active or move to the Reserves or another federal branch. There is a 6 month wait period that also applies to any DOD GS position unless they are waived when people ETS or retire and chase those government jobs.

Go onto ebenfits and request a copy of your service records. If the YNs and 42A did their jobs it’ll be in your record.

Contact Navy Admin, they will have your paperwork on file, and you can request it via mail.
