I have heard of people using Scotch Guard like sprays on there whites which makes them "water resistant" and liquid doesn't seep into the fibers and, can be wiped off easily. I don't know if it actually works, just something that I heard once or twice.

The biggest issue with scotchgaurd on white clothing is the potential to turn it yellow.
Our navy brothers may be able to provide some good suggestions however, since they still wear white on occasion.

Washing them would work great. I hope this helps. Although I don't really see how someone thought whites for cooks was a good idea. I would have given them a black uniform.

Cook whites are used to display the look of cleanliness. Black is actually a worse color, you can see every little speck of grime on black clothing.

Well, first off let's make sure we're using all the gear properly. Meaning, wear your apron, as soon as you get a stain try and get it out immediately, also know that you can exchange them when they're too soiled. The other suggestions that were made, Oxy clean and bleach work wonders, and for tomato stains rub in table salt then us bleach or Oxy clean. My secret weapon is hydrogen peroxide, put it in a spray bottle and spray on stains as needed.
