Current active duty 11b Staff Sergeant located at Fort Bliss, TX seeking to drop an Aviation Packet in the near future. I have 5 years active time, scored a 48 on the SIFT and have a 124 GT score.

I have 27 semester hours from 2010 prior to joining the military, however, my GPA was less than stellar. Is some college annotated better than none at all, even with a low GPA?

Additionally, I received fixed wing flight lessons back in 2008-2010, but never received my VFR license, although I did work my way up to solo flying. Is this worth mentioning or would it just be considered filler?

Thank you for your time and answers.

Currently in flight school, PM and ask me anything. SIFT score is decent (not necessarily good but acceptable. Most people score in the 50s, I got a 53 but 40-45s get picked up too so don't sweat it). Any college with any grade is much better than none. I had 53hrs with a 4.0 GT is great. I had 113. Mention the flight hours to show dedication but that doesn't necessarily mean you'll get brownie points for it and it'll be minimally helpful in flight school. Regardless, put the packet in. Army is hurting bad for aviators, keep in mind its a 10yr ADSO now.

Sir,

I appreciate the input, I’m currently in the prep stages of organizing this packet, but as I progress and move it along (still need to complete the flight physical) I will definitely be reaching out.

Tracking the ADSO, hoping that that is something which works in my favor. It’s just an assumption, but I would think the amount of packets being submitted have declined to reflect the sharp increase in the ADSO.

SSG (Join to see) I can't speak to actual numbers of submission but I can tell you 11 out of 35 students in my WOBC class raised their hand when the CW5 down here said raise your hand if you would not have put a packet in if the ADSO was 10 years...I switched over as A SSG/P with 11.5yrs in so it wouldn't have mattered to me. I can look your packet over when you get it ready if you'd like.

That is about what I’d expect to see. I will say it’s an effective method to
determine the career guys, even if that wasn’t the intent.

Once I have it organized and complete, I will reach out to you. Current CO has connections to CAB out here, so that will hopefully
lead to solid letter of recommendations.

Thank you again.

Sir,

Thank you for reaching out and for the offer to help. I will definitely be in touch as I put together this packet, but would rather wait until I have a more complete product for you to look over. I’m currently in the process of piecing together this flight physical.

Include it all. No one really knows what the board looks at. I would assume the LOR’s and NCOER’s would carry the most weight. Last I checked selction rates have been around 50 percent. Not horrible at all. I am over at Ft. Hood let me know if you have any questions.

I appreciate the heads up Sir, I’ll include it all in the final packet, sounds like it won’t hurt my chances. Thank you for the support
