Going to AIT at Huachuca in a few months and I'm wondering if married soldiers are required to stay in the barracks.

35M is 19 weeks long which means not long enough to PCS to. You'll PCS with your family to DLI. When you finish DLI you will attend training enroute to your next duty station. You will be TDY at that point and your family will either be at DLI or moved ahead to your follow on assignment

I don’t know all the specifics, but no, AIT students who are married and accompanied can get on post housing. They’re actually first priority and housing is highly available right now. Again, I’m not sure what your orders state but if your dependents are authorized to come with you, you should be able to get on post housing. I don’t know all the restrictions you’ll have, but you will have many.
