I required a CI scope polygraph for various things I did during my career, but not merely to be awarded the 35P MOS. I retired in 2013. Some other respondents are saying you have to take them now -- they're probably right.
The CI scope polygraph is the easy one, really not a big deal. It's approximately five questions and they're all centered on intent to commit espionage, treason, etc. It's not the more intrusive "lifestyle" polygraph.

I'd guess you'd best be squeaky clean to have access. Can't speculate, but have contractor friends that undergo them periodically. Depends on what you are doing. Unless you have any dark secrets, a polygraph should not concern you. They require them to find out.

SPC (Join to see) - In my 25+ years of Army SIGINT, failures are a rarity; though you may have to be polygraphed 2-3 times before the polygrapher gets a "passing" result. The process is unnatural, but again most Soldiers get through it.

Wouldn't surprise me if there's youtube video about it, beating it is doubtful, but it's not insurmountable with training. Almost everything else is out there. I'd guess it's pretty stressful unless you know you are all good. Did you ever steal a watermelon, throw water balloons, soap windows on Halloween? Not what they're looking for.
