Just PCSed to Germany. this is my Second duty station and third duty station. I tend to look forward so I can understand what is best for my career. My question is should I try to go to Ft. Bragg or Ft. Campbell next. With the Army down sizing I believe schools will be more important as the Army looks for who will make the best leaders. In the way of Troop Schools and general military life would it be better to go to Fort Bragg NC or Ft. Campbell KY.
And yes I'm interested in both Airborne and Air Assault.

with which ever post you select, it will be a magnet that draws you back. Do your research on which one suits what you are looking for in your career

Well, I was stationed at Ft. Campbell for my last duty station, and I absolutely loved it there.  I think life on post is probably going to be similar between the two.  I have never been stationed at Ft. Bragg, so I am not 100% sure, but this is based on what I have heard from Soldiers who have been stationed at both.  I will say that I think the off-post areas around Ft. Campbell are better, both on the KY and TN side.  I spent a couple months at Ft. Bragg and did not like "Fayettenam" very much.  Since I was only there a couple months, I didn't get to see all that NC had to offer, but I do think there was more to do in TN/KY, especially for those with families.

In the 22 years that I have been in the Army, I have only been assigned to two bases. Fort Campbell and Fort Bragg. I've been at Bragg for 20 straight year. Never wanted to go back.
