Alright group I'm back again with another MEB question. From your guys experience, about how long should a NARSUM be under review once completed by a PA? My PA told me that it would take about a week or two back in OCT (its now DEC 1st) . I've reached out to the other physician to see about how much longer it take for her to complete her review but the response was more about the MEB process as a whole, stating that it could take 3 to 5 months to complete, which I'm aware of. I don't want to file an ICE complaint just yet since I do work with the person every once in a while. But I don't like playing the waiting game especially if its been past a months wait. PS I'm on my 3rd dead mans profile and need the review to be completed in order to get a permanent if that information is worth anything.

You have your information mixed up. The NARSUM is a process within the MEB, you don't enter an MEB until you have a permanent profile. If you are not currently a P3, then you have not been referred to a MEB. If, on your SRB under the MRC part it does not say MRC03 and the code "RP" then you are not in an MEB. If you have been referred to an MEB and are actually waiting the NARSUM you will not be getting another permanent profile. If you are in an MEB the longest portion is awaiting your VA ratings. It doesn't matter how long the NARSUM takes because you still won't be able to move forward until the VA gets around to you, and there is no ICE complaint for that

An SOP might make a great NCOER bullet and might help you in your future employment. Just saying.

Update to the situation. After that email was sent out the provider that was conducting the review, the following Monday the NARSUM review was completed. Since I'm located in Korea I have to submit paperwork for new orders and for "air evac" as they do not have the infrastructure to conduct MEBs here. As SFC Boyd stated above, I am not yet in MEB status, but am concentered "MEB nominated". Once I return stateside I'll be issued a PEBLO and begin from there. I do not believe it takes long to conduct a review for a NARSUM and honestly think they forgot about it.

SGT(P) (Join to see) a NARSUM is just a narrative summary of your injuries. Just a written essay stating what is wrong with you. You'll probably be sent to Hawaii or JBLM to complete your MEB

SFC (Join to see) I was given a list of locations... people who are native born or have a HOR can only go to Hawaii...what was told to me is they will place me to the nearest base regarding my HOR...so most likely fort hood or JBSA
