Second lawsuit challenges change in VA claims process

A separate lawsuit aimed at restoring the informal claims process was filed in late March by American Legion, AMVETS, Military Order of the Purple Heart, the National Veterans Legal Services Program and the Vietnam Veterans of America.

"A backlog of disability claims has dogged the VA for years and while the agency has significantly reduced the number of claims pending for more than 125 days, some critics say this has been done partly by denying more claims and sending them to the appeals process. As more claims are closed, the appeals backlog has been growing.
VA officials have said the new system will get veterans their benefits more quickly and said insinuating that disabled veterans cannot fill out paperwork is insulting."
I had my wife link this image for me this morning. SPC Jan Allbright, M.Sc., R.S. and I have spoken about the VA's password requirements before however.. and this is what it feels like setting them up, and I'm computer savvy. I can't imagine a non-savvy person doing it.

I posted about Grumman Data Services (way back in the day) issuing "computer generated" passwords that contained U/L case, special char and numerics. As a result everyone wrote their password on the back of their ID badge.

SPC Jan Allbright, M.Sc., R.S. I remember us talking about it. I prefer "simple" passwords with a "authenticator" (like a phone or a dongle device) When you make a password so "inconvenient" people intentionally bypass security, there's a problem.

Sgt Aaron Kennedy, MS - Our password for the military timecard system (DMRHSI) required 15 characters, 2 caps, 2 lowercase, 2 symbols, 2 numbers, no consecutive repeating characters (i.e. "ss").
Finally....I came up with one that worked.
"This.is.Ridiculous415". Unfortunately for me, I forgot it, so Enterprise help desk had to look up the password....the tech got a bit of a chuckle out of it though.
Some of my passwords since have been pretty ridiculous. I couldn't imagine having to use passwords like that on a regular basis.
