What happens if branch sends you on a PCS to somewhere that your EFMP request was denied?

We have been informed through case management that we were denied a PCS location based on EFMP for a place we were pending orders for. However my husband just received orders for this location with dependents has this happened to anyone?
We really want to go to the new location yet out case manager made is sound that if we arrived without EFMP approval that we would be responsible for travel cost to see the doctors as the doctors are more than 100 miles away.
Any one have experiences having branch send you somewhere that was EFMP denied?

Orders say that when dependents are authorized at the location. You haven't given us any information about your situation so we can't tell you exactly why "your" orders state one thing or another or how to fix it. But, the short answer is your spouse will either go without you, or he will have his orders canceled and be reassigned.

Orders state dependent authorized and that reasonable care is available per EFMP. Yet the gaining location said we were denied.

Paula Heller yes I read it the first time, dependents are authorized at that location, you are not approved to go. His orders read correctly. That is exactly should say.

I was assigned to Fort Drum in 2008. So we PCSed as ordered. At the time, my son was EFMP. When I outprocessed Drum, the EFMP Coordinator looked at the EFMP file on the system, looked at me, and said "You should never have been assigned here." I agreed, but it was what it was.
At the end of the day, the Army doesn't care about your family, despite all the "Army Family Strong" happy talk and advertising. Get with your EFMP Coordinator and see what is what. Good luck!

There’s a reason why EFMP is for. If appropriate medical care is not available and the service members can be spare the hurdle, then s/he and family is not send. Unless waived and is on them or on unaccompanied tour.
But, based on your statement, there is not enough for us to make a good assessment. And truth be told, that’s personal information you want to hold.

Orders state authorized with dependents and has the clause that says EFMP member has reasonable access at the gaining location, yet gaining location EFMP coordinator said they denied us and are unaware why we received orders.

Good, keep it vague Paula Heller. With regards to the local EFMP coordinator and branch, unfortunately, every now and then stuff falls thru the cracks. Let’s say that the location had the right provider few months ago; perhaps by the time your spouse and his branch manager did their handshake. All good; in theory. But then in a last minute... Boom, provider no longer there. For whatever reason. Just one of the many possible reasons.
